In the early 80's I gained an art mentor, Mr. John Collias, who was a well known portrait painter.
He was extremely demanding and encouraged me to keep working so I broadened my techniques, styles, and subject.
The Hawk Art Show has evolved since 1980 based on my experiences training Golden Eagles for falconry and to perform in motion pictures.
My father, Morley Nelson a raptor conservationist was instrumental in my training in film and birds of prey conservation.
When Covid forced me into the studio I decided to finish my birds of prey works by doing 5 more contemporary approaches to wildlife art. The show encompasses l6 paintings of hawks, eagles, and falcons. Exhibitions are being planned for the originals.
